Jay Kieft, currently executive director of Wright County Human Services in Buffalo, Minnesota, has been offered the county administrator position newly created by the Cook County Board of Commissioners.
“We are currently negotiating an agreement with him on the terms of employment,” David Unmacht of Springsted, a consulting group, told the Cook County News-Herald on October 9, 2013. “I would hope and anticipate that that would be ready for board approval by the next county board meeting.” A background check is also part of the process.
Unmacht estimated that Kieft, who would need to give notice to his current employer, might be able to start sometime in December. “He has to figure out housing and all those important details,” Unmacht said.
“He’s very excited about it,” said Unmacht. “He’s enthusiastic, and he’s looking forward to it.”
