Law library fee reduced
Effective November 11, 2018, the law library fee will be lowered from $15 to $10.
The change was made at the request of the Cook County Law Library Board of Trustees because, for several years, the law library fees brought in more revenue than was spent on operating the library as a resource.
The Law Library Revenue Fund currently has $49,177.76 in a fund restricted to use for law library proposes only. Revenues have been consistently exceeding expenses by as much as $10,000 annually.
In its motion to the board, the Law Library Board of Trustees stated, “The law library fees should be lowered from $15 to $10 because the public should be assessed only the amount fairly required to operate the law library.”
