Big congratulations and thanks are due to the Cook County Public Health and Human Services for organizing and managing the very successful vaccination program over the past months. And the people of Cook County and the state of Minnesota also deserve thanks and congratulations for getting themselves vaccinated and making the county and the state national leaders in fighting the world-wide pandemic.
Of course, there remain people who for various reasons oppose vaccinations. They are entitled to their opinion. However, they also need to demonstrate courtesy and respect for the rest of the people in the county who are doing their best to protect everyone — including the anti-vaxxers and their families — from a serious and life-threatening disease. Out of consideration for the rest of the community, it seems that it’d be best to ask that the anti-vaxxers please stay home, refrain from contact with others, and avoid spreading their harmful opinions to anyone else.
