2:28 a.m., Grand Marais: PUC notified after an alarm went off

near Gofer Run.

12:21 p.m., Grand Marais: Cook County was asked to hold an

inmate to await pick-up by the military. He was apprehended in

Thunder Bay for being AWOL.

2:43 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller wanted to know where the

spotlights and cameras are that the cops use to catch people who

are breaking into vehicles, as she saw them at her vehicle again

last night at 2:30.

4:02 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller reported that another vehicle

passed her on the highway near mile marker 102, clipped the

side of her car and kept going.

6:22 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he was picked up by the

sheriff ’s office and brought in to the hospital this morning, and

now his house is unlocked and someone better get out there and

lock it because if anything is missing the county is going to get

sued.

7:46 p.m., Tofte: Fire alarm at Bluefin.

Tuesday, March 13

3:14 a.m., Grand Portage: Caller said the hood is up on her

vehicle, and somebody is out there messing with it.

8:18 a.m., Grand Marais: An electrician working at the library

set off the burglar alarm.

8:42 a.m., Grand Marais: Vehicle rollover on Foothill Boulevard.

No injuries reported.

1:18 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said she saw a lynx walk

through her yard a couple of minutes ago and then heard two

gunshots. Unknown if it is related.

2:18 p.m., Grand Marais: Child abuse investigation.

8:28 p.m., Lutsen: Suspicious activity reported in the Mountain

Inn parking lot.

9:24 p.m., Grand Marais: Barking dog complaint.

Wednesday, March 14

9:36 a.m., Grand Marais: A box of old shotgun shells was

brought into the Law Enforcement Center for disposal.

9:38 a.m., Tofte: Report that a possibly stolen girls’ bike has been

in the pavilion at Tofte Park for a while.

10:52 a.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a female

with a lower back injury.

11:01 a.m., Grand Portage: Caller who was a personal care

assistant reported that a family heirloom cookbook she loaned

has been stolen, and she would like it back.

3:48 p.m., Grand Marais: Harassment reported.

4:44 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller asked if anyone has been

arrested for breaking into her vehicle, and it is in really bad

shape now that all the wiring has been pulled out. A deputy was

notified about possible psych issues.

5:05 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said his key is missing and stuff

may have been moved around in his house.

8:10 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller wanted to speak with a deputy

about some stuff he found in his house that doesn’t belong there,

and he doesn’t know how it got there. It is not his. It’s a tube of

some type rolled up in duct tape.

9:51 p.m., Grand Marais: caller asked for the emergency number

for the Cedar Rapids, Iowa Police Department. The dispatcher

gave it to him.

Thursday, March 15

10:54 a.m., Grand Marais: Deputy called to a disturbance at

Birchwood Apartments.

11:11 a.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a

16-year-old male with a shoulder injury.

1:07 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said he lost an envelope with

$400 cash inside about two weeks ago. It was for his wife’s

birthday present.

6:43 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller expressed concern about a

white pick-up driving fast around the area of Eighth Avenue

West because there are children playing on the street.

10:06 p.m., Tofte: False fire alarm from Bluefin.

Friday, March 16

12:19 a.m., Grand Portage: Caller again said someone was

messing with her vehicles, but there was no evidence of any

damage.

4:29 p.m., Lutsen: Ambulance called to the ski hill for a 37-yearold

woman with a leg injury.

10:04 p.m., Grand Portage: Caller from the casino said she asked

a woman to watch her machine while she got a pop and when

she returned the woman was gone and the machine was cashed

in at $700.

Saturday, March 17

1:35 a.m., Lutsen: Deputy assistance requested at the Sea Villas

to remove a loud group of about 12 who had a campfire near the

lake.

1:49 p.m., Grand Marais: Report of a smoky haze on the east

end of Deeryard Lake.

8:14 p.m., Grand Marais: Caller said she was unable to find an

8-year-old boy who was out riding a skateboard and has been

gone for about 45 minutes. They already checked the skate park.

Sunday, March 18

8:14 a.m., Lutsen: Domestic/child custody dispute.

10:59 a.m., Tofte: Trespassing complaint.

12:53 p.m., Grand Marais: A dog was hanging around the

Trading Post for a couple hours.

1:04 p.m., Grand Portage: A Jehovah’s Witness said a dog bit

him when he was knocking on the door of a house.

1:22 p.m., Tofte: Caller said his wife is trying to take everything

out of the house.

4:30 p.m., Grand Marais: A black border collie escaped his leash

and ran off.

7:32 p.m., Grand Portage: Report of a tipped-over fire hydrant at
