Computer classes and more in March

The month of February certainly flew by! February was busy and filled with fun at the Senior Center. A good-sized group enjoyed the Valentine’s Day party, playing Musical Hearts, (similar to Musical Chairs, you just don’t have to get up), followed by Valentine Bingo!

In mid February, seniors enjoyed a trip to Cascade Lodge for a delicious lunch in a warm, wonderful atmosphere.

Computer classes at the Senior Center

A free Basic Computer Class is being offered on Wednesday, March 27 from 12:30 – 3 p.m. If you don’t know anything about computers or are intimidated by them, this is the class for you. If you need some refreshing on using a computer, this class is for you. Pre-registration is requested and donations for the class are accepted.

There are high-speed Internet and computers for you to use at the Senior Center. Or if you prefer, you are welcome to bring your own laptop or tablet computer.

 

 

The Senior Center will also help provide additional training for folks with future questions.

Senior Center trips

On Wednesday, March 13, the Senior Center will take a trip to tour Carefree, the new assisted living facility, and the Veteran’s Home in Silver Bay. It is great to know all of your local options for you or your loved ones.

Also enjoy a delicious lunch at the Northwoods Café in Silver Bay. Pick up some shopping items at Zup’s or Julie’s True Value Hardware. The cost is $15.00 which includes roundtrip transportation and tours. Lunch and shopping are at your own expense. Depart the Senior Center at 9 a.m. and return to the center at 4:30 p.m.

An overnight trip to the Grand Portage Lodge and Casino is planned for Monday, March 18. Guests will receive $15 in free slot play and seniors receive two-for-one drink coupons from the Players Club. Spend the evening and the next day; enjoy $5 off your breakfast. The cost for double occupancy is only $12 per person; single occupancy, $24.
