Cold winter weather does more than help winterrelated businesses in our region.

Como Oil and Propane’s pink truck has been busy making propane deliveries—helping in the fight against breast cancer one gallon at a time. To help raise awareness and money to support the fight against breast cancer, Como painted one of its propane trucks pink and kicked off Project Pink in October 2008 to support the American Breast Cancer Foundation. And, this year, Como is happy to announce that the program is touching lives locally, with the donations supporting Women Rock and the St. Luke’s Regional Breast Center.

Depending upon the number of deliveries made during a heating season, the annual donations are estimated to range between $8,000 and $10,000.

This week the pink truck is delivering fuel in Cook County to support Mush for the Cure.

“In addition to our donation to Women Rock and the St. Luke’s Regional Breast Center, Como Oil & Propane will be making a donation to our local fundraising efforts,” reports Steve Ortmann, Como Grand Marais division manager. Como Oil & Propane provides propane, oil and related services to Northland customers in Duluth, Barnum, Hibbing, Two Harbors, Grand Marais, Tower, Ashland, Cable and Minong.
