I just read the recent paper and the articles on the library expansion, the new community center and so on. I just have to say that I sure in the heck hope that the ones in charge of the city and the county understand that our community needs jobs. Please quit farming work outside the community. We are dying here…hello?
And since I am on the subject I want to also say that I admire international employees. I admire the fact that they are willing to leave their homeland and travel across the country for both adventure and capital gain.
I do not however admire businesses that pass up locals looking for work so they can wait for the foreign subsidized workers, again, we are dying here…. hello?
This community needs jobs. We have families leaving left and right because they cannot afford to live here. Who will pay for the school(s) when there are few students in attendance? Who will work the average jobs when the average worker has left?
Heck, maybe we don’t have to worry about it, as the businesses that employ that average worker will be closed.
