Dear Grand Marais parents, business owners and community… you are doing an amazing job raising your village of kids! We planned a four-day trip to stay here and ended up staying for two weeks because my kids (16-, 13- and 12-year-old twins) were allowed to be kids.
My oldest met a group of local kids that let him join in the activities including hide and seek tag, jumping off the pier, swimming, biking, skate park, checking out the new teen center, etc. These kids seemed free and happy. This comes with support from the parents and local community. I observed these kids be welcoming and respectful.
I just want to remind you; it takes a village to raise healthy and happy kids and your community is doing a great job!
Way to go to encourage your kids to go outside and have fun!
