The public is invited to an ordination service and reception for Tom Murray of Grand Marais on October 15.
Tom Murray of Grand Marais will be ordained into the Ministry of Word and Sacrament during a service of ordination at Lutsen Evangelical Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15.
Bishop Thomas Aitken of the Northeastern Minnesota Synod of the ELCA will preside and preach at the service. Bill Beckstrand will be the guest organist.
Tom has served the Lutsen congregation for four years, and also serves Zion Lutheran Church in Finland. He completed seminary studies at Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley, California this summer and was approved for ordination in September. Tom is a previous graduate of Concordia University, St. Paul.
The public is invited to attend the ordination service and the reception that follows in the church social hall.
