Community invited to “Carolyn & Company” benefit

In January 2014, Carolyn Larsen was diagnosed with triple negative ductal carcinoma (TNBC), a form of breast cancer described as aggressive. Carolyn has faced this diagnosis bravely—and aggressively—with the support of friends and family. That support network is now throwing a fantastic party to help lift Carolyn’s spirits and to help her face the added financial challenges that come with this diagnosis and treatment regimen.

Carolyn recently completed the required five months of chemotherapy and is facing surgery and radiation treatment. She is participating in a clinical trial at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. It is not known when she will be able to return to her work as owner/operator of Superior Images Hair Design.

Everyone is invited to the benefit on July 12 at the Cook County Community Center from 2 – 5 p.m. with a dance to follow at the American Legion in Grand Marais from 7 p.m to close.

Come out and join the party. There will be a cakewalk, bake sale, games, raffles and fabulous silent auction items. There are items such as a threeday fishing package, wine baskets, a 32-inch flat-screen TV, tickets to Minnesota Timberwolves games and much, much, more.

If you are unable to attend, but would like to make a donation, monetary gifts can be deposited at the Grand Marais State Bank, PO Box 100, Grand Marais, MN 55604.
