Community Ed offers classes on Anishinaabe culture

Are you curious about the language, culture, traditions and customs of the Anishinaabe? Are you a professional whose work would benefit from learning more about Anishinaabe culture? If you are just beginning your study or are continuing to learn, all are welcome in Anishinaabemowin: Exploring the culture, traditions and customs of the Anishinaabe through language.

The classes are being offered by Community Education and run Wednesdays, April 3 through May 22. There are two class times, 3:45 p.m. and 6 p.m. There is a $60 fee.

The class instructor is Tom Jack, who will use discussion and oral and written language practice to explore the world view of the Anishinaabe. Participation in this class will help preserve Anishinaabemowin and build bridges within and between communities.

All ages are welcome in this class, but parent participation with children younger than third grade is required. To register or for more information contact Community Education at www.cookcountyschool.org/ cookcounty/cmed or 387-2000.
