Work is under way to refurbish the Cook County Center playground, replacing old equipment with new slides, swings, a jungle gym and other fun stuff for the 5- to 12-year-olds’ play space.

During this August 13-24 transition the Cook County Community Center playground will be closed. The new playground equipment has arrived and is stored by the current playground.

“We ask, both parents and youth, to please be respectful and stay away from the equipment and this area,” said Diane Booth, director, Cook County Community Center/Extension Service.

“Please steer clear of the area so that we will be able to install the new playground equipment during these weeks. If pieces go missing, we won’t be able to install the new playground. We look forward to sharing the new play space with everyone very soon,” said Booth.
