The big news coming out of Cook County this week is that the very fuzzy, sweet Easter Bunny—yes, THAT Easter Bunny, has announced that he/she will be making an appearance at the Community Center Easter egg hunt on March 31. Put that on your calendar and hop on over to meet the sweet rabbit.

Between 2,500 and 3,000 brightly colored Easter eggs will be scattered about the Cook County Community Center grounds on Saturday, March 31, just ready to be plucked from the ground and put into an Easter basket by eager little hands.

This will be the ninth annual Cook County KIDS PLUS Easter event with festivities running from 9 a.m. to noon.

Cost is $20 per family and includes brunch with the Easter Bunny, indoor ice-skating, and an Easter egg hunt at 10:30 a.m., plus activities and crafts for the kids.

There will also be raffle tickets sold at Joynes Department Store, Grand Marais Dairy Queen, Java Moose and Cook County Community Center for $5 each, as well as raffle tickets sold by Cook County Kids Plus board members.

A drawing will be held for great prizes at noon. All proceeds from the fundraiser will go to purchase food for kids who are eligible for free and reduced lunch in our county.
