Empty Bowls 2019 fundraiser
All are invited to Empty Bowls 2019, the annual fundraiser for Cook County hunger programs. Thursday, November 14, St. John’s Catholic Church (lower level) 5th St and Broadway, Grand Marais. Lunch from 11 am to 1 pm and dinner from 5 pm to 7 pm. Event includes soup meal, handmade bowl sale, and bake sale.
Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner
Come eat with us. Gather as neighbors so that strangers might become friends. Join us around the tables so that we can build up our community with love and kindness. Celebrate and give thanks at the Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner at First Congregational Church. Dinner will be served family style at 1:00 p.m., on Thanksgiving Day, November 28th. The church is located at the corner of 3rd Avenue West and 2nd Street. There is no charge for this traditional meal. Call the church at 387-2113 for special considerations if you are physically unable to join us or need a ride.

Sawtooth Mountain Clinic Foot Care Clinic
The Sawtooth Mountain Clinic and Cook County Department of Public Health & Human Services offer their Foot Care Clinic at the Grand Marais Senior Center on the third Tuesday of each month, from 9 to 11 a.m. First come, first served. The cost is $10. Bring your own soap, towel, and bucket to soak your feet.
Blood Pressure and Glucose Screening
The Sawtooth Mountain Clinic and Cook County Department of Public Health & Human Services will be offering Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar screenings on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at Whole Foods Co-op from 9:15 – 10:15 a.m. and at the Cook County Senior Center from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Blood pressures are free and blood sugars cost $3.
