Violence Prevention Center is offering a free 5-week group for individuals who have been harmed or received services at the VPC. Experience how to care for yourself from a different local professional each week. Nutrition, Art, Yoga, Nature, Meditation. When: 5 consecutive Mondays beginning Sept. 9. Time: 6:30-8:00 p.m. Where: Lower Level First Congregational Church. Pre-registration required, limited space. Zen Meditation starting in September
Wednesday evenings 7 to 8 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 300 West 2nd St., Grand Marais, MN. Instruction in Meditation (Zazen) and room etiquette/manners 6:30-7 p.m.; Room door is closed only during the 20 minute sitting periods. Sawtooth Mountain Clinic Foot Care Clinic
The Sawtooth Mountain Clinic and Cook County Department of Public Health & Human Services offer their Foot Care Clinic at the Grand Marais Senior Center on the third Tuesday of each month, from 9 to 11 a.m. First come, first served. The cost is $10. Bring your own soap, towel, and bucket to soak your feet.
Blood Pressure and Glucose Screening
The Sawtooth Mountain Clinic and Cook County Department of Public Health & Human Services will be offering Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar screenings on Tuesday, Sept. 3 at Cook County Community YMCA from 9:15 – 10:15 a.m. and at the Cook County Senior Center from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Blood pressures are free and blood sugars cost $3.
