Empty Bowls 2015
All are invited to Empty Bowls 2015, the annual fundraiser for community hunger programs. Thursday, Nov. 12 in the lower level of the St. John’s Catholic Church: lunch from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and dinner from 5 – 7 p.m. Event includes a soup meal, handmade bowl and pendant sale, silent auction, and bake sale.
Knotty Carvers of the North Woodcarving Show
The Knotty Carvers of the North will host their third annual woodcarving show at the Proctor Area Community Center (PACC), 100 Pionk Drive, Proctor, MN, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 7. Cook County Ruby’s Pantry
Cook County Ruby’s Pantry is a surplus food distribution program. New time 5:00-6:30 p.m. Every second Tuesday of the month. (Nov. 10, Dec. 8). Elementary school parking. $20 cash only per share – buy more shares as you want, no financial qualifications. Bring a laundry basket and a cooler to bring home frozen items. Sawtooth Mountain Clinic Foot Care Clinic
The Sawtooth Mountain Clinic and Cook County Department of Public Health & Human Services offer their Foot Care Clinic at the Grand Marais Senior Center on the third Tuesday of each month, from 9 to 11 a.m. First come, first served. The cost is $10. Bring your own soap, towel, and bucket to soak your feet.
Blood Pressure and Glucose Screening
The Sawtooth Mountain Clinic and Cook County Department of Public Health & Human Services will be offering Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar screenings on November 3, Cook County Community YMCA from 9:15- 10:15 a.m. and at the Senior Center from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Blood pressures are free and blood sugars cost $3.
