There’s No Place Like Home: Explore Cook County with Sugarloaf

1 p.m. – August 21 – Meet at Sugarloaf Cove. Enjoy an in-depth exploration of Cook County’s special places with your neighbors. Each week features a unique habitat to explore with Sugarloaf’s naturalist – On August 21, it’s Lake Superior. Free. Cook County Ruby’s Pantry

Will be open 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the high school. Next distributions will be 2nd Tuesdays — September 8­. Park in elementary lot or church parking lot. Cost is $20 (Cash only) per share and you may buy more than one share. Program is not income based so anyone can participate. Bring laundry baskets, coolers or boxes to carry food home. Sawtooth Mountain Clinic Foot Care Clinic

The Sawtooth Mountain Clinic and Cook County Department of Public Health & Human Services offer their Foot Care Clinic at the Grand Marais Senior Center on the third Tuesday of each month, from 9 to 11 a.m. First come, first served. The cost is $10. Bring your own soap, towel, and bucket to soak your feet.

Blood Pressure and Glucose Screening

The Sawtooth Mountain Clinic and Cook County Department of Public Health & Human Services will be offering Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar screenings on September 1 at Cook County Community YMCA from 9:15-10:15 a.m. and at the Senior Center from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Blood pressures are free and blood sugars cost $3.
