The Ladies Music Club is coming to the Gunflint Trail

Friday, July 31 at Hungry Jack Lodge from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday, August 1 at Gunflint Lodge from 7:00-9:00 p.m. This acoustic group from Saint Paul features threepart harmony, two guitars, string bass and violin—playing a wide range of lovely easy listening folk and bluegrass style music.

Farm to Children

July 25 9:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Cook County Community Center FREE. All interested in engaging children in understanding where their food comes from through gardening, field trips, cooking, activities and stories are welcome. Field trip to the GM Farmer’s Market. Cook County 2015 Citizen Of The Year Award and Cook County 2015 Senior Citizen Of The Year Award. Your nomination for these two separate special awards should be an individual (or couple) who has made Cook County a better place to live. Please provide they following information: Nominee name (or couple), date of birth, marital status, number of children, number of years lived in the county, work history (retirement status-applicable), church affiliation, offices held and when, member of organizations, public offices held, current community involvement. Cook County Ruby’s Pantry

Will be open 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the high school. Next distributions will be 2nd Tuesdays — August 11 and September 8­. Park in elementary lot or church parking lot. Cost is $20 (Cash only) per share and you may buy more than one share. Program is not income based so anyone can participate. Bring laundry baskets, coolers or boxes to carry food home. Sawtooth Mountain Clinic Foot Care Clinic

The Sawtooth Mountain Clinic and Cook County Department of Public Health & Human Services offer their Foot Care Clinic at the Grand Marais Senior Center on the third Tuesday of each month, from 9 to 11 a.m. First come, first served. The cost is $10. Bring your own soap, towel, and bucket to soak your feet.

Blood Pressure and Glucose Screening

The Sawtooth Mountain Clinic and Cook County Department of Public Health & Human Services will be offering Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar screenings on August 4 at Cook County Whole Foods Co-op from 9:15- 10:15 a.m. and at the Senior Center from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Blood pressures are free and blood sugars cost $3.
