West End Garden Club Celebrates 80 Years

As Time Goes By flower show at the Schroeder Town Hall, Saturday, July 18, 1 – 5 p.m.

Northland Wonders Flower Show

Northland Wonders is the theme for the flower show to be held July 17 at the community center in Grand Marais. The Grand Marais Garden Club will host the show on Friday from noon-5:00 p.m. Come for the silver tea and view the floral arrangements. Admission is free.

Pie Social Benefit

Homemade pie, coffee and lemonade benefit on Saturday, July 11 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Johnson Heritage Post to support the North Shore Hospital and Care Center. Sponsored by the Hospital Auxiliary.

Cook County Ruby’s Pantry

Will be open 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the high school. Next distributions will be 2nd Tuesdays — July 14, August 11 and September 8­. Park in elementary lot or church parking lot. Cost is $20 (Cash only) per share and you may buy more than one share. Program is not income based so anyone can participate. Bring laundry baskets, coolers or boxes to carry food home. Grand Marais Garden Club Meeting

The Grand Marais Garden Club will meet at the Senior Center at 10am for a short business meeting Monday, July 13th. Following the business meeting there will be a tour of Diane Nower’s Garden. The public is welcome to attend.

Sawtooth Mountain Clinic Foot Care Clinic

The Sawtooth Mountain Clinic and Cook County Department of Public Health & Human Services offer their Foot Care Clinic at the Grand Marais Senior Center on the third Tuesday of each month, from 9 to 11 a.m. First come, first served. The cost is $10. Bring your own soap, towel, and bucket to soak your feet.

Blood Pressure and Glucose Screening

The Sawtooth Mountain Clinic and Cook County Department of Public Health & Human Services will be offering Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar screenings on August 4 at Cook County Whole Foods Co-op from 9:15-10:15 a.m. and at the Senior Center from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Blood pressures are free and blood sugars cost $3.
