Grand Marais Playhouse Summer Performance Preview and Fundraiser

June 18, beginning with a curry dinner 6 – 7 p.m. – suggested donation $10. The summer showcase begins at 7 p.m. with performances from Eleemosynary, Moon Over Buffalo, I Love You You’re Perfect, Now Change, In Search of the Perfect G String, Ole and Lena at the State Fair, and Monroe Crossing. Remembering Jean Brune

Wednesday, June 17, noon, Congregational Church, Grand Marais. A friend to many, Jean Brune, age 54, died quite unexpectedly last month. In lieu of a formal ceremony, friends of Jean are invited to gather for an hour or so and share their memories of her. Light refreshments will be served. Cook County Ruby’s Pantry

Will be open 4:00 – 6:30 p.m. at the high school. Next distributions will be 2nd Tuesdays — July 14 and August 11­. Park in elementary lot or church parking lot. Sawtooth Mountain Clinic Foot Care Clinic

The Sawtooth Mountain Clinic and Cook County Department of Public Health & Human Services offer their Foot Care Clinic at the Grand Marais Senior Center on the third Tuesday of each month, from 9 to 11 a.m. First come, first served. The cost is $10. Bring your own soap, towel, and bucket to soak your feet.

Blood Pressure and Glucose Screening

The Sawtooth Mountain Clinic and Cook County Department of Public Health & Human Services will be offering Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar screenings on July 7 at Cook County Community YMCA from 9:15-10:15 a.m. and at the Senior Center from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Blood pressures are free and blood sugars cost $3.
