Community Center outdoor ice rinks open Cook County Community Center outdoor ice rinks and warming house open for skating Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays from 3:30 – 7:00 p.m., Saturdays and days kids are off school from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Sundays, 1:00 – 4:30 p.m. Skate rental is $1/person/time. To reserve the hockey rink for your group, please call Diane at 218-387-3015. If the warming house is not open, you are welcome to skate anyway.

Community Conversation on Water Quality Priorities for the North Shore of Lake Superior Cook County Soil and Water Conservation District and Lake County Soil and Water Conservation District are in the process of developing a 10-year plan to protect, improve and conserve the water resources in the Lake Superior basin on the North Shore of Lake Superior. We would like to present what we’ve developed so far for the plan and gather your perspective on what is important as we move forward. You are invited to participate in the community conversation on Monday, February 23, 2015 at Devil’s Track Landing Restaurant: 5:00 – 5:45 p.m. – One Watershed, One Plan Background; 5:45 – 6:15 p.m. – Dinner; 6:15 – 7:30 p.m. – Community Conversation. I.S.D. 166 Regular School Board Meeting The School Board of I.S.D. 166 will meet for a regular meeting Thursday, February 19, 2015, 5:00 p.m., Jane Mianowski Conference Center, 101 West 5th Street, Grand Marais, MN. Prior to the regular meeting there will be an open session of a biomass presentation to the full School Board.

Sawtooth Mountain Clinic Foot Care Clinic The Sawtooth Mountain Clinic and Cook County Department of Public Health & Human Services offer their Foot Care Clinic at the Grand Marais Senior Center on the third Tuesday of each month, from 9 to 11 a.m. First come, first served. The cost is $10. Bring your own soap, towel, and bucket to soak your feet.

Blood Pressure and Glucose Screening The Sawtooth Mountain Clinic and Cook County Department of Public Health & Human Services will be offering Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar screenings on March 3 at the Cook County Family YMCA from 9:15-10:15 a.m. and at the Senior Center from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Blood pressures are free and blood sugars cost $3.
