Library Friends Annual Book Sale
The annual book sale sponsored by Library Friends of
Cook County will be held Thursday, August 1 – Saturday,
August 3 at the Community Center. Thursday night
is the Library Friends members only sale from 5 – 7
p.m. Memberships will be sold at the Center one hour
prior to the Thursday sale. Friday hours are 8 a.m. – 4
p.m. Saturday hours are 8 a.m. – noon and books and
materials will be discounted.

Invasive Plant Control and
Tree Planting Workshop
Learn about invasive plants, how to control them, and
how to reclaim the site with tree planting tips. August
13 at Beaver Bay Community Center (5:30 p.m.); August
14 at Grand Marais Community Center (5:30 p.m.);

The I.S.D. 166 School Board special session
July 25, 2013 at 8:00 a.m. in the Arrowhead Center for the
Arts Conference Room. The purpose of this meeting is to
update the board on summer work and budgets, approve
academic guidance and mental health plan, discuss the
2013-14 academic calendar, accept resignations and
approve new hires for the 2013-14 school year.

Sawtooth Mountain Clinic Foot Care Clinic
The Sawtooth Mountain Clinic and Cook County
Department of Public Health & Human Services offer
their Foot Care Clinic at the Grand Marais Senior Center
on the third Tuesday of each month, from 9 -11 a.m.
First come, first served. The cost is $10. Bring your own
soap, towel, and bucket to soak your feet.

Blood Pressure and Glucose Screening
The Sawtooth Mountain Clinic and Cook County
Department of Public Health & Human Services will be
offering Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar screenings on
Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at the Grand Marais Pool from
9:15-10:15 a.m. and at the Senior Center from 10:30-11:30
a.m. Blood pressures are free and blood sugars cost $3. For
