4th Annual Cook County Chili Cook-Off

Saturday, February 23, 11:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m. St. John’s Catholic Church. All proceeds will be split between the Cook County Food Shelf and Coldwater IMPACT, a youth leadership initiative. $200 Grand prize. Admission: Adults $7 all you can eat, children 12 and under $4 and 2 and under free. Or purchase the “Complete Deal” $10.00 for all you can eat, plus a custom designed mug, plus an automatic entry into raffle. Along with admission fee, you will also be eligible to vote in the Peoples Choice Award. To enter or sponsor a team, you can e-mail the information to cookcounty.chilicookoff@gmail.com. Cook County Republicans to Meet

Tuesday Evening, February 19, 2013, 7:00 p.m., Cook County Senior Center, 10 North Broadway Avenue in Grand Marais. The Cook County Republican Party of Minnesota BPOU Convention shall be held to: 1. Elect BPOU Officers: Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer. 2. Elect a State Central Delegate and Alternates. 3. Transact other business as may properly come before this convention.

Cook County ATV Club February meeting

I.S.D. 166 Regular School Board Meeting

The School Board of I.S.D. 166 will meet for a regular board meeting Thursday, February 21, 2013, 5:00 p.m., JMCC Conference Room, 101 West 5th Street, Grand Marais, MN. The board members will be in attendance at 4:45 p.m. for discussion with community members.

Northcountry CPR will be offering

An American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR/AED and First Aid certification class on Wednesday, March , 2013 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition, a non-certified CPR/AED class will be offered from 5 – 7 p.m. on March 6. Sawtooth Mountain Clinic Foot Care Clinic

The Sawtooth Mountain Clinic and Cook County Department of Public Health & Human Services offer their Foot Care Clinic at the Grand Marais Senior Center on the third Tuesday of each month, from 9:00-11:00 a.m. First come, first served. The cost is $10. Bring your own soap, towel, and bucket to soak your feet.

Blood Pressure and Glucose Screening

The Sawtooth Mountain Clinic and Cook County Department of Public Health & Human Services will be offering Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar screenings on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at the Grand Marais Pool from 9:15-10:15 a.m. and at the Senior Center from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Blood pressures are free and blood sugars cost $3.
