Sawtooth Mountain Clinic Foot Care Clinic
The Sawtooth Mountain Clinic and the Cook County
Department of Public Health & Human Services offer their
Foot Care Clinic at the Grand Marais Senior Center on the third
Tuesday of each month, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. First come,
first served. The cost is $10 for either location. Bring your own
soap, towel, and bucket to soak your feet. West End Outreach
Blood Pressure Screening will be available when Birch Grove

Rendezvous with History: A Grand Portage Story
On Saturday, January 21 at 4:00 p.m. the Cook County
Historical Society Museum hosts a screening of the
film “Rendezvous with History: A Grand Portage Story."
Tim Cochrane, Grand Portage National Monument
superintendent, will be available to answer questions and
talk about the making of the movie. This is a FREE event.

West End Presentation on
Biomass Energy in Cook County
A status report on the “Cook County Biomass Energy
Feasibility Study” will be presented to the West End
communities on Wednesday, January 18 at 7:00 p.m. in the
Tofte Town Hall. Everyone with an interest in energy or forest
issues is encouraged to attend. For information contact Gary

Murder Mystery Play Auditions
The Grand Marais Playhouse will hold auditions for a murder
mystery play on January 17 at 7:00 p.m. at the Arrowhead
Center for the Arts. A minimum of four women and three men
is needed. Rehearsals will take place this winter and spring,
determined by the cast and director. Performances will be at
the Harbor Light Supper Club June 28 – July 1 and July 5-8.
There is a stipend available to all performers to help cover
the cost of participation. For more information contact the

Grand Marais Playhouse Musical Auditions
The Grand Marais Playhouse will hold auditions for a musical
on January 19 at 7:00 p.m. at the Arrowhead Center for the
Arts. A specific production will be determined by the options
available with the performers who attend. Musicians as well
as vocalists are strongly encouraged to attend. Rehearsals
will take place this winter and spring , determined by the
cast and director. Performances will be in repertory from
July 19 – August 12. Two performances each weekend. All
performers may receive a stipend to help cover the cost of

from a showcase to full production.
Looking for Lady Bountiful
The Grand Marais Playhouse is looking for a woman to play
the role of Lady Bountiful in the upcoming production of “The
Beaux’ Stratagem.” This is a medium-sized comic role. Lady
Bountiful is the benefactor of the town and also thinks she is
a pretty good doctor! “ She almost cures as many as she kills.”
This restoration comedy will run in repertory from July 19 –
Aug. 12. All performers may receive a stipend to help cover
the cost of participation. The role of Lady Bountiful could
also be played by a man. Auditions for the role will take place
on January 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the Arrowhead Center for the
