Commissioners pass a resolution for Capital Improvement plan for County Road 45 bond issuance

Cook County Commissioners held a public hearing on Tuesday, November 16, to see what the community’s pulse was on fixing the Pike Lake Road (Co. 45).

The special meeting lasted just over five minutes, with no public attending either in person or via email.

Hearing no complaints, commissioners unanimously passed the Capital Improvement Plan for Pike Lake Road.

The next step will be to issue General Obligation / Transportation Sales Tax Revenue Bonds, Series 2021A, in a maximum amount of $6,140,000 to provide funding for road and bridge improvements to County Road 45.

Work is expected to be completed by 2022.

The county intends to issue the bonds this coming December 2021.

County Board Chair Dave Mills thanked the public for voting to pass the transportation sales tax because it allows the county to “leverage dollars to get these projects done.”

The General Obligation Transportation Sales Tax Bonds will be paid from the Transportation Sales Tax revenue.
