On February 17, 2011 a workshop was held in Duluth, where Part I of the Washington and Barnum Island Cultural Landscape Report was presented to park stakeholders and the public. The presentation highlighted project goals, landscape histories, existing conditions, and a range of potential treatment options. Comments made at that time were noted for further consideration.
In connection with this workshop, the National Park Service is opening a twoweek comment period where the public can download and review presentation materials and memoranda and register related comments. The comment period closes March 20.
Participants are encouraged to submit their comments online using the PEPC (Planning, Environment and Public Comment) website. Written comments will also be accepted. For more information, see parkplanning.nps.gov/washingtonbarnumCLR or contact Liz Valencia at (906) 487-7153.
