Coming soon to Grand Marais Playhouse, Beauty and the Beast

The Grand Marais Playhouse is proud to present Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. The classic story tells of Belle (Amelia Roth), a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast (Aliya Marxen), who is a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end, and he will be transformed into his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he will be doomed for all eternity.

Also caught in the spell is his entire household! All the servants are slowly transforming into household objects, like Lumiere (Aurora Schelmeske) who is a candlestick, Cogsworth (Robin Henrickson) who is a clock, Mrs. Potts (Jaymie Kirk), a teapot, Chip her son (Amy Carpenter) a teacup, Babette (Izy Sparks) a feather duster, and many other wonderful characters played by Dominic Wilson, Yvonne Block, Abbey Stoddard, Tyler Hamrick, Saira Smith, Bryn Fitzgerald- Wells, Alice Koster, Greta Roth, Kylie Viren, Hannah Vanderheiden, Sam Kern, Ella Hedstrom, Elsa Garry, Karina Roth, and Sylvia Berka.

A wide and varied cast of characters will present Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts on the weekends of Jan. 26-29 and Feb. 3-5.
