Coming soon: The Edgar Allen Poe Afterlife Radio Show

The Grand Marais Playhouse is pleased to present The Edgar Allen Poe Afterlife Radio Show by Patrick Greene and Jason Pizzarello.

A tap at a chamber door, and the beat of a hideous heart evoke the very best and creepiest of Edgar Allan Poe. So, when Poe sets out to keep his stories alive from beyond the grave, an otherworldly radio studio proves just the thing. Wandering spirits gather to play the roles in Poe’s most classic works, The Cask of the Amontillado, The Raven, The Fall of the House of Usher and The Tell-Tale Heart. But the grim master of the macabre is a little new to radio. What’s all this about commercials? And why is a skeptical cemetery cat sticking around for all these stories? The play will be performed with live sound effects created on stage throughout the performance, creating a classic horror radio show that will be great fun to watch.

The Edgar Allen Poe Afterlife Radio Show will perform live on-stage at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts on October 28 -31. Thursday – Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. The play will also be livestreamed each night and available at On Demand through October 31.

The cast includes Kevin Kager as Edgar Allen Poe. The ensemble is Rose Arrowsmith, Elsa Garry, Maggie Gatzke, Alyssa Hedstrom, Christie John, Rowan Lindholm, KathyAnn Travis, Kylie Viren and Jaye White.

Advance tickets are available at grandmaraisplayhouse.com
