Comedy and rock n’ roll at Rendezvous

Don Burnstick, a Cree from the Alexander First Nation located outside of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, is returning to Grand Portage Lodge & Casino for a Friday night show during Rendezvous Days. Those who caught his act when he last visited know he brings plenty of laughter to the stage in this don’t-miss performance.

The youngest of 15 children, coupled with growing up on the reserve, taught Don a variety of means of defending himself, not the least of which became his use of humor. He also spent time on the streets of Edmonton as an alcoholic and drug addict. He explains that he sobered up in 1985 at the age of 21. He obtained post secondary training at the University of San Diego in holistic urban youth development. He also has obtained certification as an Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor and graduated from the Native Trainers Development program at the Nechi Institute in Edmonton.

However, his forte is making people laugh. Burnstick has established himself as one of Canada’s best comedian of all times. As his website declares, “Laughter is the Best Medicine.” . Burnstick appears at the Grand Portage Lodge
