Rose Thompson, a 2007 graduate of Cook County High School, had writing and photos published in the online version of the New York Times on January 7, 2021. The New York Times does an annual feature called “52 Places to Go” and this year, readers were invited to submit their favorite places from all over the world. There were over 2000 submissions for the 52 spots.
Rose’s submission was “The Methow Valley” in Washington state. She wrote about how she came to know the valley and why she loves living there. Two of her beautiful photographs were also published with the essay.
Noah Roth, Grand Marais, qualified for the fall 2020 Dean’s List at North Dakota State University (NDSU) in Fargo, North Dakota. Noah is majoring in mechanical engineering at NDSU. He is the son of Mike and Karina Roth, Grand Marais.
Students must maintain a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher out of a 4.0 GPA to qualify for the Dean’s List.
Madysen McKeever, Schroeder, qualified for the fall 2020 Dean’s List at North Dakota State University (NDSU). Madysen is majoring in Veterinary Technology. Madysen is the daughter of Don and Tina McKeever, Schroeder. A student must be enrolled in 12 or more class credits and earn a grape point average of 3.50 or higher to qualify for the Dean’s List.
