Scholarships— finding money for college
Is it possible to graduate from college with little to no debt?
The answer is “Yes” with the aid of scholarships.
High school seniors in the Northland have until January 15, 2019 to apply for the largest academic awards in the region, offered by two area foundations: the Marshall H. and Nellie Alworth Memorial Fund and the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation.
Every spring, each of these foundations awards $1.2 million and $900,000 respectively to students in the Northland.
The Marshall H. and Nellie Alworth Memorial Fund annually awards 60 to 70, four-year, $20,000 scholarships ($5,000 per year) to northern Minnesota high school graduates majoring in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
