Everson named to dean’s list

Colin Everson of Grand Marais has been named to the University of Minnesota-Morris dean’s list for the fall 2017 semester.

To be eligible for the dean’s list students must achieve a grade point average of 3.66 or higher while taking 12 or more credits, with two-thirds of these credits on the A-F grading system.

Colin is the son of Mitch and Cindy Everson of Grand Marais.

Gruber-Schulz starts for Lakehead

In her second year, former CCHS basketball star Lily Gruber-Schulz has played her way into the Lakehead Thunderwolves starting lineup as a forward.

Lakehead is currently in third place in the Western Canadian conference with a 10-4 mark. The Thunderwolves are only one game out of first place, currently held by McMaster College.

Through 14 games Lily has averaged 26.8 minutes of playing time per game. A model of consistency, Lily is putting up 7.6 points and 7.5 rebounds per game for her team. She is fourth in scoring and second in rebounding for the Thunderwolves.

Wahlers named to dean’s list

Whitney Lisa Wahlers, 2013 graduate of Cook County High School, was named to the 2017 fall quarter dean’s list at DePaul University in Chicago.

Whitney is set to graduate after winter quarter (March 2018) with a degree in public relations and advertising. She is the daughter of Max Wahlers and Lisa Wahlers, both of Grand Marais.

Olson makes dean’s list

The University of Wisconsin-Superior has named Karl Sever Olson of Grand Marais to the dean’s list for academic achievement during the fall 2017 semester.

To be named to the dean’s list, students must have completed 12 degree-seeking semester credits and achieved at least a 3.50-grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).

Anderson makes UMD dean’s list

Haylie Anderson, Grand Marais, has been named to the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) dean’s list for the fall semester.

Haylie is a junior enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts where she is studying to get her Criminology Bachelor of Arts.

Thompson makes UMD dean’s list

Lauren D. Thompson, Lutsen, was named to the UMD dean’s list for the fall semester.

Students must maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher to be included on the dean’s list.

Lauren is a senior enrolled in Education and Human Service Professions, where she is seeking a Bachelor of Arts in Unified Early Child Studies.

Deschampe makes dean’s list

Sarah L. Deschampe, Grand Portage, was named to the fall semester dean’s list at UMD.

Sarah is a senior enrolled in the Labovitz School of Business and Economics, where she is seeking a Bachelor of Arts in Management.
