Tara Austin graduates with a master’s degree
Tara Austin, Grand Marais, graduated this spring from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, from the School of Education with a Master of Fine Arts, Art, degree.
Tara is the daughter of Rick and Lori Austin, Grand Marais.
Furlong named to spring dean’s list at Bemidji State
Richard Furlong from Grand Marais earned dean’s list honors from Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minn., at the conclusion of the spring 2017 semester.
To be eligible for the dean’s list, BSU students must be enrolled for at least 12 credits and earn a 3.5 GPA during the semester. A total of 1,049 students earned spring 2017 dean’s list honors from the university.
A member of the colleges and universities of Minnesota State, Bemidji State offers more than 80 undergraduate majors and 11 graduate degrees encompassing arts, sciences and select professional programs. Bemidji State has an enrollment of more than 5,100 students and a faculty and staff of more than 550.
Murray quailifies for honor roll at Mankato State University
Alexander Murray, a sophomore at Mankato State University, qualified for the honor list for the spring semester. Alex is majoring in environmental science. He is the son of Tom and Denise Murray of Grand Marais.
To qualify for academic honors, undergraduate students must be enrolled for at least 12 credit hours for the semester. Minnesota State Mankato, a comprehensive university with 15,110 students, is part of the Minnesota state system, which comprises 31 state institutions.
Breanna Hay named to high honors dean’s list
Brenna Hay of Grand Marais was named to the spring 2017 semester dean’s list at University of Northwestern.
Hay was named to the high honors list.
Full-time students with a grade point average (GPA) during the semester of 3.65 (out of 4.0) or higher make the dean’s list.
St. Paul is a nondenominational Christian university in St. Paul, Minn.
Rauzi named to dean’s list at the University of Minnesota
Joe Rauzi, a junior from Grand Marais enrolled in the school of science and engineering at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus, qualified for the spring semester dean’s list.
To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must complete 12 or more letter-graded credits while attaining a 3.66 grade point average.
