Sophie Holz named to dean’s list

Sophie Marie Holz of Grand Marais, a senior at Northland College, has been named to the dean’s list for outstanding academic performance during the fall 2016 term.

To qualify for the dean’s list, full-time students must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale with no grade less than a “C.” Northland College is a private liberal arts college located in northern Wisconsin.

Sophie is the daughter of Dominique and Steven Holz, who now live in Amsterdam, the capital city of the Netherlands.

Morgan Mixdorf named to Bemidji State dean’s list

Morgan Mixdorf of Grand Marais earned dean’s list honors from Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minn., at the conclusion of the fall 2016 semester.

To be eligible for dean’s list, BSU students must be enrolled for at least 12 credits and earn a 3.5 GPA during the semester. A total of 1,123 students received fall 2016 dean’s list honors from the university.

Bemidji State University, located in northern Minnesota’s lake district, occupies a wooded campus along the shore of Lake Bemidji.

McMillan makes dean’s list at St. Cloud State

Magdalynn (Maggy) Rosa McMillan made the 2016 fall semester dean’s list at St. Cloud State University for the fall quarter.

To be eligible for the honor, students must have a grade point average of 3.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

St. Cloud State University is Minnesota’s second largest university, with more than 15,000 students from 90 different nations. Students choose from more than 60 graduate study programs and more than 200 majors, minors and pre-professional programs that hold nearly every available national accreditation. The 100-acre campus is located about an hour northwest of Minneapolis along the banks of the Mississippi River.

Maggy is enrolled in the School of Health and Human Services, Social Work Program. She is the daughter of Mike McMillan and Shawn Maravigli of Grand Marais.

Furlong named to Bemidji State University dean’s list

Richard (Richie) Furlong of Grand Marais earned dean’s list honors from Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minn., at the conclusion of the fall 2016 semester.

To be eligible for the dean’s list, BSU students must be enrolled for at least 12 credits and earn a 3.5 GPA during the semester. A total of 1,123 students earned fall 2016 dean’s list honors from the university.
