Nelson graduates from Perpich Arts High School
Jeremiah Ian Nelson of Grand Marais graduated from the visual arts program at Perpich Arts High School on June 3 at Ted Mann Concert Hall on the University of Minnesota West Bank campus. He is planning to take a gap year.
Perpich Center for Arts Education is a state agency serving all schools, educators and students in Minnesota. Created in 1985 by the Minnesota state legislature, the agency seeks to advance K-12 education throughout the state by teaching in and through the arts. Perpich staff and faculty experts provide outreach, professional development, research, policy leadership and curriculum and standards development at both the state and national level. Perpich is home to a public arts education library as well as an innovative, two-year, statewide residential high school and an east metro integration magnet middle-grade program, Crosswinds Arts and Science School.
Ian is the son of Timothy and Kimberly Nelson of Grand Marais.
Seaton accepted for admission to Luther College
Scot Schaeffer, Luther College vice president for enrollment management, has announced that William Seaton of Grand Marais, Minnesota, has been accepted for admission for the 2016-17 academic year. Seaton has been awarded the Luther College Founders Scholarship.
Will is the son of David and Nancy Seaton of Grand Marais.
Luther is a selective four-year college located in northeast Iowa. The college has an enrollment of 2,400 students and offers a liberal arts education leading to the Bachelor of Arts degree in 60 majors and pre-professional programs.
Nagle graduates from St. Scholastica
Commencement exercises for The College of St. Scholastica Class of 2016 were held at the Amsoil Arena in Duluth on May 14, 2016. Among the graduates was Amanda Sue Nagle of Grand Marais.
Nagle received her Baccalaureate of Science in health information management with a minor in computer science/information systems.
Amanda is the daughter of Gerald Nagle Jr. and Peggy Nagle of Duluth. She is currently employed at the Grand Marais Public Library.
Krishna Woerheide earns UNL degree
Krishna Shiolbhan Woerheide of Lutsen was among nearly 2,800 graduates who received degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in ceremonies May 6 and 7.
Woerheide earned a Bachelor of Science degree in applied science from the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.
In his final event as UNL chancellor, Harvey Perlman delivered the address at the undergraduate commencement May 7 at Pinnacle Bank Arena. The graduates are from 43 states, the District of Columbia and 45 countries.
