Martinson graduates from UMD
Ryan Martinson of Schroeder received a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in exercise science at the University of Minnesota- Duluth’s undergraduate commencement ceremony May 16 at the Amsoil Arena.
Martinson, enrolled in the College of Education & Human Services, is a 2011 graduate of Cook County High School. He is the son of Bruce and Sheryl Martinson of Schroeder.
Ryan has been accepted, and started May 18, at the University of Miami – Florida to work on his doctorate of physical therapy, a three-year program.
Chmelik named to St. Olaf dean’s list
Carl Chmelik of Grand Marais has been named to the spring 2015 dean’s list at St. Olaf College in Northfield.
Carl is a 2014 graduate of Cook County High School, and is the son of Michael and Teresa Chmelik of Grand Marais.
The dean’s list recognizes students with a semester grade point average of 3.75 or higher on a 4-point scale.

Gruber-Schulz named to dean’s list at Bemidji State University
Clay Gruber-Schulz of Grand Marais graduated from Bemidji State University at the conclusion of the Spring 2015 semester. Clay earned his bachelor of science degree in geography.
Clay also earned dean’s list honors from Bemidji State in the spring 2015 semester.
To be eligible for the dean’s list, BSU students must be enrolled for at least 12 credits and earn a 3.5 GPA during the semester. A total of 1,042 students earned Spring 2015 dean’s list honors from the university.
Clay is a 2011 graduate of Cook County High School. He is the son of John Gruber of Grand Marais and Jennifer Schulz of Grand Marais.
