Molly Zafft named to Winona State University dean’s list
Molly Zafft of Grand Marais has been named to the fall 2013 dean’s list at Winona State University.
Molly is a 2012 graduate of Cook County High School. She is the daughter of Marsha and Larry Zafft of Grand Marais.
To achieve recognition on the dean’s list, a student must complete 12 semester hours or more during any one semester and earn a grade point average of 3.50 or higher. Founded in 1858, Winona State University is a comprehensive public university with close to 8,800 students.
Larson named to Dunwoody College of Technology’s fall dean’s list
Meghan Larson of Silver Bay was named to Dunwoody College of Technology’s fall semester dean’s list. Larson received this honor by upholding a 3.5 grade point average or higher.
Founded in 1914, Dunwoody College of Technology is the only private, not-for-profit technical college in the Upper Midwest. It has provided a hands-on, applied technical education to more than 250,000 men and women, who in turn have gone on to meaningful and rewarding careers. Located on the western edge of downtown Minneapolis, Dunwoody is celebrating its centennial year.
Murray named to UND roll of honor
The University of North Dakota has announced that Lauren Murray of Grand Marais has been named to the 2013 fall semester president’s roll of honor.
To qualify for the accolade, a student must have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.80 or higher. The student must also have earned a minimum of 30 semester hours and have completed a minimum of 12 hours at the close of the semester, eight of which must be for traditional letter grades.
Lauren is the daughter of Tom and Denise Murray of Grand Marais and is a 2012 graduate of Cook County High School.
Kipp Sande named to University of Minnesota Twin Cities dean’s list
Kipp Sande of Grand Marais has been named to the 2013 fall semester dean’s list at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.
Sande is a senior in the university’s College of Science and Engineering. He is a 2010 graduate of Cook County High School and is the son of Nancy and Steve Sande of Grand Marais.
To qualify for the dean’s list a student must complete 12 or more letter-graded credits while attaining a 3.66 grade point average.
UMD announces fall semester dean’s list
The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) has announced the dean’s list for the fall semester 2013. A number of Cook County students have earned dean’s list honors by achieving a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
Named to the dean’s list from Grand Marais was Sterling A. Anderson, a sophomore attending the College of Liberal Arts. His major is undeclared. He is a 2013 graduate of Cook County High School and is the son of Lorrie and Rob Svadlenka of Grand Marais, and Mike and Becky Anderson of Duluth.
Also from Grand Marais was Rose M. Ingebrigtsen, a freshman, working toward a bachelor’s degree in international studies at the College of Liberal Arts. She is a 2013 graduate of Cook County High School and is the daughter of Dave and Patsy Ingebrigtsen of Grand Marais.
Ashley W. Ross of Lutsen was also named to the list. A senior, Ashley is working toward her bachelor’s degree in psychology at the College of Education and Human Service Professions. Ashley is the daughter of Mike and Kelli Ross of Lutsen. She is a 2012 graduate of Cook County High School. Two students were named to the list from Schroeder, Kyle A. Martinson, a 2013 graduate of Cook County High School is a freshman in the Swenson College of Science and Engineering. His major is undeclared. Also named to the dean’s list was Ryan R. Martinson, a 2011 graduate of Cook County High School, a junior working toward his bachelor’s degree in exercise science at the College of Education and Human Service Professionals.
Kyle and Ryan are the sons of Bruce and Sheryl Martinson of Schroeder.
