Ross named to UMD dean’s list

The University of Minnesota – Duluth (UMD) has announced its dean’s list for fall semester 2012. Students on the dean’s list have achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. Named to the list was Ashley W. Ross of Lutsen, a junior in the college education and human services department, majoring in psychology.

Ashley is the daughter of Mike and Kelli Ross of Lutsen. She is a 2012 graduate of Cook County High School.

VanDoren on Lake Superior College dean’s list

Lake Superior College has announced its dean’s list for fall semester 2012. Named to the list was Bradley VanDoren of Schroeder.

Mark Magnuson, Ph.D, vice president of academic and student affairs, congratulated VanDoren on his outstanding achievement. In a letter to students who received dean’s list honors, Magnuson wrote, “Whether this is your first time or not, this accomplishment shows a sincere and profound commitment as a student to your learning and to the goals you are working hard to achieve. You have distinguished yourself among your peers.”

 

 

Bradley is a 2012 graduate of Cook County High School. He is the son of Mary and Chuck VanDoren of Schroeder.

Brazell on MN State President’s List

Nearly 800 students have been named to the President’s List for the 2012 fall semester at Minnesota State Community and Technical College. Among them is Jorey Brazell of Grand Marais. He is enrolled in the AAS degree program for Automotive Service Technology.

Brazell is also a member of the Minnesota National Guard.

To earn this award for scholastic achievement, a student must complete 12 or more college-level credits for the semester with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. The highest attainable average is a 4.0.

As a member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system, M State serves more than 9,200 students in credit courses each year in more than 120 career and liberal arts programs at its four campuses in Detroit Lakes, Fergus Falls, Moorhead and Wadena, and through eCampus. By partnering with communities, the college also provides custom training services and other responsive training programs.

Jorey is a 2007 graduate of Cook County High School. He is the son of Mickey and Dee Brazell of Grand Marais.
