Coach thanks seniors for their efforts and play

Viking head volleyball coach Marlene (Marly) Zimmer is losing five seniors off of this year’s team. As always, it’s tough to lose senior leaders, but these players will become fans of the upcoming classes, and through their efforts, the sport will carry on.

“This year’s seniors were a fun group to watch grow over the years. They were part of the Covid half season, they were in the program during the State trips, and most importantly they stuck with it through the end and became one of my favorite groups to coach not based solely off of statistics and win-loss record, but because they didn’t put up with drama, or negativity, or other teammates being bad sports. They all wanted what was best for the team as a whole, and it showed in practice and on the court. I will miss this group and thank them for what they brought to the Vikings volleyball program.

The five seniors are Katie Peck, Makenzie Fairbanks, Hailey Wiele, Emmalli Myers and Anna Helmerson.
