Fresh off of a sold-out West Coast tour, Duluth’s top experimental indie rock band is coming to Papa Charlie’s on Saturday, February 11.
Led by singer/songwriter Craig Minowa, Cloud Cult has a national release coming this month, and the band has made a lot of headway over the last year with their film The Seeker starring Josh Radnor and Alex McKenna.
Minowa includes violin cello, trumpet, trombone and french horn in his rock band to create beautiful music. Two painters create original artwork on the stage during each performance, and the paintings are auctioned off at the end of the night.
The Seeker marks the first album recorded entirely at the band’s solar powered studio in Virqua, Wisconsin, and was mastered by Jeff Lipton (Arcade Fire, Bon Iver, and Wilco). Cloud Cult has sold over 100,000 albums at lead singer/songwriter Craig Minowas’s organic hobby farm.
The show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance, $16 at the door. Tickets can be purchased in advance off of the Lutsen Mountains website.
