I recently contacted my county commissioner to express my thoughts on the never-ending always growing “junk everywhere” problem here in Cook County. I was told that this problem has been going on for decades. Duh?
I was also told that it would be brought up at a future meeting. The state law is clear, they as a board can enforce it. They as a board can “up” the standards, and enforce them. Theyin the past have chosen to do nothing. They have side-stepped the issue, and dropped it in the lap of Planning & Zoning which is understaffed to tackle all this.
I told my commissioner to get the board to put some “teeth” in this. It’s about time isn’t it?
All of you out there in Cook County who feel the same, make some noise, or plan a trip to St. Paul with me if necessary. We’ll bring plenty of pictures for the State Attorney General to see.
