Cook County News Herald

Clarification:

The photo caption for the story about the downtown lots contained errors. It was written, incorrectly, that the four properties are for sale and the business owners have decided not to rebuild.

All the business owners, property owners and the Cook County/Grand Marais EDA have been working together for several months on creative ideas for next steps in the redevelopment of the properties. While we have been working together on a potential collaborative development, some of the owners have also been working on potential individual projects. No decisions have been made as of this date. All options are being explored at this time.

Currently, Tyler and Jessica Dean, owners of White Pine North, are selling and shipping coffee online at whitepinenorth.com.

Nate and Sara Hingos have purchased a food truck and plan to offer food service as soon as possible. Plans are underway and details will be announced as they become available.

While Picnic & Pine is paused, they have partnered with Birchbark Books and Gifts to sell some of Picnic & Pine’s favorite items.

The business owners and property owners are seeking potential partners, developers, and investors to build and redevelop these downtown properties.

The Cook County News-Herald apologizes for the error.
