The City of Grand Marais is featured in the “Small-Town Saturday” column of the 2023 February-March issue of Country Living magazine.
Four pages of pictures and brief text describe some of the stores, community, and outdoor activities offered in the community. The piece is written by Sarah Zlotnick Lifestyle Director for Country Living, who lives in Washington, D.C.
Some of the stores are pictured, and many more given a thumb-nail descriptions: The Fisherman’s Daughter, Angry Trout, Joy & Company, Naniboujou Lodge & Restaurant, Gunflint Mercantile, Upstate MN, The Big Lake, Blue Water Café, The Mayhew Inn, Stone Harbor, The Minnie Stuga, and others. A highlight of the piece is a great full-page picture of a young lady walking on the frozen Kadunce River through the canyon section. Thanks to a local reader for sharing the magazine with the paper.
