As a relative newcomer to Cook County, I continue to be amazed and grateful for the caring and generous community we chose to join. Help comes in times of need, for individuals and organizations. Selfless spirits are the super heroes of the county.
In the case of Cook County Higher Education, we needed a speaker for our annual fundraiser in early September. We may be small in resident population, but our friends and fans extend to the far corners. The network responded and former resident and Olympic star, Cindy Nelson, came to our rescue. She will be speaking about her inspiring life story at our event on September 4th at Lutsen Mountain.
We are grateful to Cindy and the network (you know who you are) for enabling us to continue our tradition. The event is an important source of funds in delivering Higher Ed’s mission of offering transformational education for residents. We also rely on local support to demonstrate to external stakeholders, particularly the Minnesota legislature, and the value of the organization to the community.
With more than 100 business sponsors, our very own super heroes, we can tell our story in the context of business support and job development. Thank you, Cook County businesses! We are grateful for your support.
In the circle of life on the North Shore, we are looking forward to a year of continued growth and innovation. We will turn your support into educational opportunities for locals. We will help create the next super heroes, who will continue to live here and give back to our unique community.
Sincerely,
Janice Latz
Cook County Higher Education,
Board President
