Church work does not have to be secular

In reply to the Geri Jensen letter of April 14.

Am I to understand that if a church decides to step outside its doors to help those in need it should lose all control of how its money is spent? That is what we pay taxes for and if the needs aren’t being met and individual Christians join together to step in to fulfill some of those needs I am astonished that you can believe that we cannot set our rules on how that money is spent!

Your town only had that hospital because of the church. Instead of being grateful you demand that they furnish any service you want as long as it’s legal even when it goes against all their beliefs.

The arrogance, to believe that Christians should not spend our money to help those in the way we choose but in secular ways, boggles my mind.

You still haven’t answered my question: “Where do those who don’t believe in a higher power get their beliefs?”
