Chris Koeneke


 

 

Chris Koeneke (84), nee Carolyn Christenson, loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away suddenly on Monday, July 11. Chris grew up on a farm in Dassel, Minnesota. While attending the University of Minnesota, she met and married Franz Koeneke. The two shared life together for 63 years.

In 1969, the Koenekes adopted Colorado as their home. Once her children were in school, Chris worked in the education system at Goddard Jr High School. She later pursued a career as a travel consultant, ultimately creating her own business through Travel Counselors in Littleton, CO.

Chris loved music, travel, exercise and family. Her greatest legacy is the strong Christian faith that she lived out and passed on to her children and grandchildren. She lived a life of gratitude and generosity.

She is survived by her husband, children Andrea (John) Dikeou of Denver, CO, Allison (Mark) Evans of Franklin, TN, Adrienne (Juan Morales) Koeneke of Los Angeles, CA, and Alan (Michelle) Koeneke of Durham, NC. She leaves behind grandsons Markus, Mikael, Antonio and Diego and siblings Rosalie Haglund, Mae Ruotsinoja, Daniel Christenson, Lowell Christenson, and Sharon Winfield.

A Service of Death and Resurrection was scheduled Monday, July 18 at 2:00 p.m. at St Andrew United Methodist Church, 9203 S University Blvd., Highlands Ranch, CO. The service will be viewable via livestream at https:// www.gostandrew.com/ resources/livestreaming/.
