Chris Hegg win his age group at the Minnesota Mile

Chris Hegg, 70, won his age group in the Minnesota Mile by, well, a country mile! The Maple Hill runner clocked 6:56 while second place Duluth runner Jerome Earold, 72, finished in 8:52.

Hegg also beat all of the 65–69-year-old men. Dave Olson of Blaine won the 65-69 age group with a time of 8:01.

The Minnesota Mile is run on Skyline Parkway in Duluth. The course takes runners on a journey around Duluth’s Enger Park and features beautiful views of the city and Lake Superior.

Cade Stocke, a senior from Virginia, Minnesota, was the overall champion. Stocke ran 4:28. Last year, as a junior, he won the Minnesota boy’s 1600-meter (mile) title in 4:11.

The Minnesota Mile is sponsored and hosted by Grandma’s Marathon.
