Child development is focus of Higher Ed class

All children are born eager to explore their world and master their development. Join Higher Ed as we review the theories of child development, the importance of developmentally appropriate practice, the developmental milestones of the first five years of life, including brain development and factors that can influence child growth and development.

Participants will examine the function and importance of play in the lives of young children as well as highlight how observation and assessment of children is important for early childhood educators and parents.

The courses will be offered Thursdays, Jan. 10 and 17, and Saturday, Jan. 19, from 8 a.m. to noon at Cook County Higher Education. There is a $40 fee. Online registration at www.mnstreaming.org is encouraged, or contact Patty at pattyn@boreal.org for registration information.
