A reader writes that someone found a large amount of cash after purchasing an article from a thrift shop. The writer, who didn’t leave a name, suggests, “Check all pockets before donating” any clothing to a Goodwill or thrift shop. Once given away, there isn’t any practical way of finding out who might have made the donation of a clothing item whose contents in a pocket is worth far more than the sale of that item.
