Charles E. Oleheiser


 

 

Charles E. Oleheiser, born 4/24/1929 in Deer River, Minnesota and died 2/13/2022 as a resident of Richfield, Minnesota.

Chuck was “going on 93.” A man of resiliency, graciousness, wisdom, and patience, Chuck loved his family, everything outdoors, and believed in taking life one day at a time.

Preceded in death by beloved wife Jean in 2020. After retiring in 1991 Chuck and Jean left their Burnsville home for life on the Gunflint Trail. They were caretakers at a small resort on Seagull Lake for one winter, then worked at the Gunflint Lodge baking and maintaining. They purchased their own home on Gunflint Lake and were there to witness the blowdown of 1999. They moved back to the twin cities area in 2001 but their decade on the Gunflint Trail was treasured.

Survived by sisters Dorothy Halvorson and Leona Thompson, daughter Barbara (Robert) Spiller, son Steven (Tami) Oleheiser, daughter Cheryl Oleheiser, stepson Tom Albert (Marte Baro), and stepdaughter Beth (Edward) Picard. Also survived by loving nieces and nephews, grand and great grandchildren.

Private interment for Chuck and Jean at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
